Samson Alexis grew up in Haiti in a large and modest household. His childhood was spent between his birth town, Saint-Michel de l’Atalaye and Cap-Haitian, where he completed his high school and undergraduate studies.
Samson holds a Master's in TESL and Linguistics from Indiana State University, Indiana, and a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Tourism Management from the Public University of the North in Cap-Haitian (PUNCH), Haiti. He is currently a French Language Instructor and an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher based in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Throughout his career, Samson has taught French and ESL to both adults and children hailing from many different parts of the world. He enjoys helping students grow and be confident in their foreign or second language learning journey.
Over the past five years, Samson has worked in the United States as a French instructor at the high school and undergraduate levels. Besides teaching French and English, he has been a conference and a medical interpreter and translator (French/Haitian Creole to English) for the last twelve years.
Samson is very passionate about community empowerment, foreign language teaching and learning and second language acquisition. As a people person, Samson loves seeing his community thrive. He believes that a prosperous Haiti is possible if each one of us accepts to reach, teach, and help one. That is why, despite being away from home, with a deep sense of love for his native land, Haiti, Samson tries to give back to his community whenever the opportunity arises. He believes he can leave his footprint on this generation by investing in the youth "the leaders of tomorrow".
Samson is happily married to his beautiful wife, Jessie. Of all his adventures, his favorite has been being a husband to his wife and father to his precious daughter, Elorah. In his free time, Samson enjoys watching a good soccer game, reading, and biking.
